Municipal Elections and Voting
Municipal elections for the Mayor and five City Council Members are in May of each year. The Mayor and all City Council Members are elected at-large and serve two year terms. City Council Members: Mayor, Place 2 and Place 4 will be elected in odd number years and City Council Members: Place 1, Place 3 and Place 5 will be elected in even number years. A current list of Council Members can be found here. Candidate Packets can be picked up after January 1st of each year at City Hall, located at 105 W. Main St., Quinlan, TX 75474. The polling places for City elections are as follows:
- Precinct:214 A Quinlan City Council Chambers104 E. Main Street, Quinlan, Texas
- Precinct: 214 B QISD Administration Building 104 E. Richmond Street, Quinlan, Texas
- Precinct:322 Grace Baptist Church 1209 E Quinlan Parkway, Quinlan, Texas
To be eligible to vote in the City's municipal election, you must reside in Quinlan and be a registered voter. Candidate packets are available at City Hall in January, each year prior to the election. For detailed election schedules and forms, contact the City Secretary at (903) 356-3306 or by Email.
To be eligible to vote in Texas, you must:
- Be a United States citizen
- Be a resident of Hunt County (for Quinlan's municipal election)
- Be 18 years of age (you may register at age 17 years and 10 months)
- Not be a convicted felon (unless sentence is completed, including any probation or parole)
- Not be declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law
